I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there any difference between a Schon cue vs a Meucci cue? Is one suppose to be better than the other?
2. Which cue would you want if you had a choice between a Schon CX-02 and a Meucci 9721BBD? Why?

I have not owned either, but have shot a few games with a Schon and an older Meucci. I felt the Schon had a better hit to it, it felt better balanced in my hand and I liked the way it seemed almost instantly comfortable, like I had been playing with it a long time instead of just a few games. I have also read in numerous forums that the new Meucci cues are not as well made. This I cannot verify, but that is what I have read. Just my opinion, no disrespect for Meucci.

Schon is superior to Meucci.

That's it, really. Sure, it doesn't take much to be better than Meucci nowadays. I have an old one from 1989 that plays pretty good.

The Woim can't just leave it at that. Both are lousy representations of the history of our game. The only production cue The Woim would consider buying is Joss. Because it's a high end production company started by Dan Janes (Hope I spelled that right!). The guy is a legend, and for that reason alone would I buy a production cue from Joss.

Schon is a big time poser. A fake. A faker. Now, I'm not trying to be insulting to any schon owners, when I didn't know any better I did consider buying a schon.

Why pay 11 big bones for a production cue? Or even 4 big bones on a production cue? Go research some custom cue makers like Jack Madden or Mike Zimmerman or Paul Dayton or **** Neighbors. Or go really cheap production and buy a Players cue.

A one piece dufferin is a great playing cue too!

Or buy the new line of Balabushka production cues.

My advice is to stay away from Meucci and stay away from Schon.

Joss is good. Viking is good if you can test out the Viking before you purchase it - Vikings are really hit or miss (I've tested Vikings that hit as good as any cue out there and I've tested Vikings that hit as if they were constructed with soggy cardboard.)

I love my Viking (aside from the couple dents in it now ). It was hanging in the shop for a while before I bought it so there were no fears of it warping. It feels great and works for me.

As for the topic at hand, I think you have your answer already heh.

I agree the Schon is better by far. More consistently perfect and limited.

Well he is right, a lot of these guys don't know what a custome cue is. It should be made for you. You should help in its design or it should be built for your game. Balabushka like Schon are high end production cues, period, but I custome design the Bushka for only $69 extra, now, it is no longer a production cue.

George Balabushka used to take production Willie Hoppe cues and enlay them. That was what Richard black was doing also, using production cheap Falcons as his base cue. The more you study this business, the more it stinks like my socks, the things they do to you boys.
