Is it true that once the shooter's bridge hand is down on the table, it is too late for the opponent to call an object ball frozen if he has not already done so prior.

Is it correct that if the shooter gets up out of his shooting position and walks around the table that the opponent still does not have the right to
call the object ball frozen for that inning?

What is he goes from one ball to the other and flops down so fast you don't have time to ask about the shot? If you interrupt him and ask him to stop, is that sharking or your right to do so?
What if he does that and begins stroking and you ask him to stop and he shoots, then what?

Opinions on this can of worms would be really appreciated.
I'll put the bang da boom on you. I'll bang em in and then drop the boom. :-D

If I guy is setting and shooting so quick you do not get a chance to see what's going on, I think you have a right to jump up and ask him to stop and not shoot, so you can inspect to see if the ball is froze or not, that is your right and I see it, but I am sure some rule book somewhere says that is not so. In my pool hall, If I am bigger and badder than you, we play by my rule book, we don't care about your rule book.

Yes, this is one where you have to know what to do as usually there is not much time to react.

Some guys try and shoot a shot like that real quick before you can see what they are doing, or coat you, get their body in the way.

Hum, most people complain about slow play. You should know how everything lays before you step away from the table. This "jump up and ask him to stop" sounds like sharking to me.

Boy do I feel like a dummy..I have no idea what you all are talking about. I have never announced or heard some announce a ball was frozen. Please clue me in. I guess I have just hung out in the wrong crowd and ignorant to some rule! :)

Your object ball is just a hair off the rail, so close it can't be seen unless you are looking right down on it. You can just shoot the cue ball softly and freeze it to the rail and the Cue ball frozen to the object ball leaving the opponent a really hard come back shot. But if It was frozen, you would have to make the CB hit a rail, making the shot harder for you. The point was some will cheat, take advantage of you not getting up to see what they are doing and then lie that the ball was frozen. Never take your opponents word on it. Always verify it is frozen or it is not. If you are the shooter, then inform him the object ball is not frozen before you shoot so he does not call a foul on you. Make him nod, or come up to see. By not doing this, he can jump up in the middle of your shot to shark you asking you to stop.
