Feathering Shots

Feathering, or underhitting shots.

It's really stupid. In any game where you have to make a cushion you can give away ridiculous fouls this way.



Is there any concesus on when this tends to happen? I.e. do players tend to do it under pressure / when they're not concentrating enough / just randomly?

(I don't do it often, but I'm not aware of a pattern in my play.)

Is there anything we can do to elimitate these errors from our games (without just over-hitting every shot)?

FL SAY: Next practice session, go out, and hit every shot, with half of your normal power and speed, then you will see, you have been hitting too hard. Also use half of the normal English you were using as well.

Mosconi said, soft is best, softer is better. Practice shooting some shots, so the ball barely gets there. You wont believe how many begin to now fall.
