I'm thinking about buying a Schmelke Sneaky Pete cue. It's made in the USA. Cue lengths from 58" to 65". Weights from 16.5 oz to 24 oz. Shaft size from 11mm to 14mm. Choice of 7 joints; mine would be wood to wood.

The cue I use now is 63" long, weight 19.5oz, shaft 12.75mm, joint wood to wood. If I buy this Schmelke cue I would buy an 18oz, 12.75mm shaft with a 11mm shaft for snooker. Suggested price is $119.00, they sell it for $95.00 plus extra for options. They also have a 22 piece laminated shaft that I have no information on.

Can any of you give me some information on these cues? How they play? Hit? Anything?

Thanks for your help.

All the best,
Bud

Hi Bud, I have played with a custom Schmelke sneaky pete for a couple of years now, 19oz 3/8-10 joint, I have two 12.5mm shafts for pool and a 11mm for snooker. I really love the cue and it is hard to go wrong with their prices, plus they are made in the USA. They play great and the 3/8-10 joint hits very solid, it is a softer hit. I haven't used one of their laminated shafts so I can't comment on those.

Good luck with your purchase, I'm sure you will enjoy the cue.

Hi Bern, Thanks for your reply. I've heard nothing but good things about the Schmelke Sneaky Pete cues. Anxious to get mine. It makes my day that they are made in America. I'll also but a cue case that is made in America. One person did tell me the Schmelke Sneaky Pete will not play as well as my Schon with 314 Predator shaft. Time will tell. How long is your Schmelke Sneaky Pete with 3 shafts?

Hi Bud, mine is the standard 58 inches. And as far as playing as well as your Schon, I believe it will play just as well although the feel will probably be different.

P.S. I believe they will match a predator to it if you would like.

Hi Bern, I feel as you do; the Schmelke Sneaky Pete may feel a bit different than the Schon, but it will play every bit as well as the Schon. Yes, I can buy a predator 314 shaft for it but I no longer have any desire to use predator products. I think they are over rated. I now use a solid maple shaft and it gets as much english and plays as well or better than my predator shafts. When I used to pick out a cue in a bar years ago I would pick a warped cue with a good tip. People would laugh at me but I was the guy who got the free drinks or walked out with a little extra money in my pocket.
