FL, I haven't been in here for a while. I am still working on some of the lessons from you, however I have just had rotator cuff surgery and am bored to tears. I can't practice or play in league. I am reading and studying, but it is hard to concentrate. I have about 2 months of rehab ahead of me. Any suggestions on what I should be doing with all this time to help my game?

FL SAY, damn, been there, done that one.................
You cant jerk off or you will throw it back out. I just came out of blowing my rotor cuff out, trying to hit my gorilla golf driver. What a pain in the ass that was. That was my first, and damn the nagging pain. That is one big time bitch of an injury, having broken ribs is worse I think. I passed on the surgery since my tear was not that severe and just let it heal naturally. This takes a very long time, it was over 6 months.
Don't push, the body will heal naturally if you let it and allow time. Mine did, with no therapy. I just sat around and drank to kill the pain. I showed up at my first theapy session, did not like what I saw as far as equipment, never went back. This is an injury you do not want. We just wont sit out and let our bodies heal, we want it done now.
Sitting out on the sidelines can be tough, it can torture you. I think its best to just stop thinking about the things you love to do and now cant. Stop all study of pool or Karate, dont even allow them to enter your mind. There is no way you can play them, so do something new. Get deeper into serious real meditation, now that you have the time to spend in it. Work on achieving real concentration and focus, using your Zen powers. Work on the powers of your mind, this requires no physical activities. Get back into music, do a tai chi cata to the music sitting down if you shoulder will alllow it. You can do this with just your forearms and hands.

There are many of these, you can find, to relax your mind and to help refresh your spirit. A relaxed warrior, fights faster, more powerfly. And when he has his mind pure, he sees in a form of slow motion where everything is harmony and flows naturally. Nothing is forced.
