Everybody Can Be Great!

Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Secret of Greatness
What is the secret of greatness? How can be put ourselves in the limelight as a great person? Answer: We can't. Only others can label us as great.
It is a "ME FIRST" kind of world. As aggressive participants in the game of life we are all looking for what we can control to make things happen in our lives. However, attempts to become great in any endeavor are fruitless if we focus only on what we stand to gain from an act. Greatness is given to us in return for what and how we give to others.
Mohammed Ali proclaimed that he was the greatest, but so did many others. It is through the giving of his performance, the generosity that he showed the people around him, the humanitarian efforts world-wide that causes people to still call him the greatest years after his boxing titles and skills have diminished.
So How Can We Achieve Greatness?
1. Forget about being great. When we focus on our rewards we automatically forfeit greatness to selfishness.
2. Think of others first. It is only through being considerate and attentive to the needs of others can greatness be achieved.
3. Have an Attitude of Servitude. Live in faith that by devoting yourself to serving others with all your heart you will have great abundance in your life.
4. Stick to Your Guns. The rub with attaining greatness is that you won't know that it is happening. If you are truly on track your focus will be totally on others. As you get closer you will be challenged like you never have before with problems and situations that will try to change your focus back to yourself. Be aware that this is happening and sharpen your focus, don't change it. Trying times are where greatness is bestowed.
If you have the courage to start and the willingness to persist while placing others above your own, then you will overcome the obstacles and reap satisfying rewards

When I walk out to do a show, I am telling me, I am the great one, the best they have ever seen, the best there is, the best there can ever be. I am going to knock em dead. I then become, what I choose to be. I am, what I think I am.

The greatest baseball hitter I ever saw play live was Ted Williams, the last to hit .400. Every time he came to the plate, he said the same thing to himself, over and over, that he was the greatest, the greatest hitter ever, of all time. It's ok to say that to your self, as long as you dont go running around saying that out loud to the world. you are, what you think you are. Dream what you want to be, then simply become it. :-D :-o :-o :-P

They tell sales people to say the same things to themselves. "I am the best sales person ever." "No one can out sell me." It is self hypnosis. It sets up a self fulfilling prophecy in your mind that you are the best at what you do. And then your mind and body have the subconsious commands to be the best. No matter what you decide to do, your mind is already moving in the direction of perfection.

Larry hit it on the head here, the key to this working is not keep this as an internal monologue. Don't stand there and tell eveyone else that you are the greatest ever. Let your actions and performance speak for themselves. It will mean more to you and the everyone around you when they realize for themselves that you are infact the greatest of all time.

You must think you are it, before you become it. You are, what you think you are.

I'll run around calling my self great for the next month. I'll report back on what it does. If you don't hear from me, it worked.
