FATIGUE
Today too many are running around mentally wiped out with their brains and reactions slow and sluggish. Long term exposure to eye strain and too much mental calculations will do it. Our brains can only handle so much and then they begin to shut down on us. The average American spends 6 hours a day on digital entertainment including TV and video games. That is too much. Immediately reduce that by 25% to 50% ASAP. Take that extra time and spend it with family and friends. Reconnect with actual live people. Play more pool and get out and socialize more.
Right now begin to reduce the time you are spending in front of a screen.
Make family dinners a priority and do not let anyone in your family eat alone in front of a screen. Make them sit at a table and talk with each other over their meals.
If you have to work with a cpu then vary the chores throughout the day to reduce stress. Stop trying to do 2 or 3 things at the same time. When you return calls, turn off your screen and save your eyes. Don’t be talking on the phone and typing emails at the same time. Slow down some.
Switch tasks during the day so one long project does not wear you down.
Too much digital immersion can cause us to lose the social connections that protect us from stress. And video games may also suppress the frontal lobe of the brain, hindering memory, attention and problem solving skills according to Gary Small, MD and author on this subject.
The brain needs the right amount of potassium a day and I take a 200 mg tablet 3 times a day with my meals. A goal is to take in 4,700 mg a day through natural sources using Lima beans, bananas, avocado, yogurt and broccoli. Easting more potassium decreases arterial stiffness and constriction helping to lower blood pressure.
