GOLF SHOES
I have always loved those old pro tour classic foot joy shoes. $325 is a lot but when you walk on the tee, they know you are serious. The old shoes had leather soles and could only be used in dry weather. So you had other cheaper shoes for wet weather that had rubber soles.
The real problem was those old metal spikes. What a pain they were. They dug up the greens, could making putting a guessing game where there was a lot of foot traffic. You could not wear them in the club or in your car as they could dig up the carpet. And walking a lot on cart paths the metal would grind down and you were replacing them and many times, they just unscrewed and were lost.
I love the part in Tin cup where he goes to see the lady shrink, and the only shoes he has, are golf shoes, so he took the spikes out, and when he crossed his legs, you could see that. All the big holes in the soles. Priceless.
Most of those old golf shoes looked like you were a pimp in a New Orleans ho house. And the way we dressed back in the 70's, holy shit. The joke was, the only reason white people play golf, was so they could go out in public and dress up like Knee gars and get by with it. That joke used to be funny in 72, today, it no longer flies.
These new shoes are fantastic; I can walk across a linoleum floor, my carpet, in my car, and no problems. What a breakthrough they were. And I love these new foot joy dry joys, totally sealed on the bottom. Plus, they feel great, play great.
I still wear the tour classics on the weekend at the club.

On the range, during the week, I wear the cheaper shoes.
If you charged $350 for shoes to play pool in, there would no longer be anyone playing pool. Thank God for China and Costco's $25 tennis shoes.
