VITAMINS

VITAMINS I believe in them and I take a lot of herbs. I grow them in my garden. It is best to get with your doctor and go over what is best for you. A good multi vitamin and a well balanced proper diet is all you really need. You must resist the temptation to buy health through a bottle of pills. Most of these vitamin pills go right through you into the stool and many that are sold cheap are really weak. The studies keep coming out and what we thought was good they now saw it’s bad. I use C, B complex, saw palmetto, grape seed, ginkgo Bilbo, eye caps, potassium, glucosamine 1500mg, E, calcium, pomegranate, fish oil, & garlic. These I recommend.

Too many or too much of the wrong vitamins can harm your health or even cause death. They were telling you to take 400 iu of E, now they say if you do 10% will die and to cut back to 200 iu. You cannot just go into a health store and buy a bunch of stuff off the shelf. Have a physician approve any thing going into your body. The flip flop around on Vit C also.
Every one raved on kava kava and St John’s Wart and now they are considered dangerous. Now they say if you have congestive heart disease don’t take fish oil.

2-2007 a study on Garlic by Chris Gardner, a Stanford professor of medicine says no form of the product works. It does not matter if it’s raw, aged, or extract in a pill. It does not lower cholesterol. The study did not rule out the possibility that garlic has other beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. Others say it does? That needs to be studied next.

2-2007, a Danish study just released says that Vitamin E and other antioxidant supplements provide no health benefits and may even produce a small increase in the risk of death. The trials were at the Copenhagen University hospital and the trials were from 250,000 people. They found a 16% increase in the risk of death by talking Vitamin A and a 7% increase with beta-carotene.

Vitamin C showed no benefit or risk and selenium showed a trend toward increased risk. 25% of the USA and Europe take one or more of these supplements. Others swear it the way to avoid colds and the flu.

For pain I use Aleve. 2 with each meal, 3 times a day. That is a lot but I am in a lot of pain and have a lot of stiffness from arthritis. Aspirin keeps your blood thin. Clots can kill you. I take 375 mg enteric aspirin with each meal also which dissolve in your large long thick intestine and do not cause bleeding in your thin stomach wall. It was 500 mg a day and now they say 80. It makes you wonder who really knows when all this keeps changing. You trust one thing only later to be told that was wrong. I have severe back pain and arthritis and my usage is high. The problems are it makes me a bleeder, I do not clot well on a cut and my tolerance to cold is poor with thinner blood. On the plus side, my arteries are not clogging up which causes the heart attacks and strokes.

A normal person could get by with an 80mg baby aspirin and one or two Aleve’s when they feel stiff. Long term usage of Aleve, Advil, Tylenol can do damage to the liver. Don’t take it unless you must.

All medications take with food to prevent damage to your stomach lining. If I will be gone all day I take my lunch and dinner pills and place them in two small plastic pouches I carry with me. During my meals out I take my pills at the dinner table in the restaurant. This means I cannot skip meals and I must eat at regular times, 7am, noon, 6pm, there is an equal amount of time between my meals, 5 hours. This is good, skipping meals is bad. Your body needs and require exact regulation of meals and sleep. I want to be in bed at midnight and up at 7am with 7 hrs of perfect sleep. Your body functions best on a regular schedule. When I wake up I have a bowel movement within 10 minutes which is good and this happens every day.

Everyone should take a multivitamin every day and select one that has all the minerals. Zinc aids memory and tests confirm taking it improved reaction times 12%. When the body absorbs Zinc it’s mostly in the area of the brain which are key to memory and that likely boosts recall abilities. 8 to 11 mg a day is about right. You get this in most multi vitamins, fortified cereals, beans and fish. Do not over do this one. Be careful. Intakes up to 40 mg a day are safe.

The problem is a lot of you are getting fat and you won’t admit to stop it, you have to stop the junk fast food, half your food intake, and exercise daily. You want health in a bottle, so you buy power drinks to stay awake because you did not put in proper sleep, you eat like a pig and you diet through a bottle. Millions are taking diet pills thinking they are the last resort. Here is what you do not know. You think every bottle of vitamins or diet pills you see on the shelf are safe. El Wrong Mcfly, knock knock. Diet pills are the most dangerous and several have killed people.

Unlike prescription and over the counter drugs, dietary supplements can be put on the market without going through the FDA approval process that requires scientific proof they are both safe and effective. Regulations treat supplements like they are food and assume they are safe until they begin killing people, then they act and pull them out. But you are dead dude?

They are putting in satins and even Viagra like materials in them. This is a fact. I can see how that would work. You get this giant boner which lasts for four hours. You can’t go anywhere, so you just screw for 4 hours and lose 5 lbs. That’s cool is you are 25, but if you are 65, your heart is going to explode. Since 2007 the FDA has pulled 52 bad products off the market.

It is rage turned inward. Vent the rage. Blow it off, deal with it and you can then heal.
Eat right, exercise, jog, run it off. Buy a punching bag and beat the hell out of it every night after work. Cut back on the booze.
Most turn to drugs. At the turn of the century up to WWI it was cocaine. It began in 1884 when Freud prescribed either cocaine or morphine for depression. It was out of control by 1915.
Amphetamines began in 1937 and were given to the soldiers in WWII on both sides to keep them fighting for days which hooked an entire generation. Barbiturates were in their heyday in the 50’s and 60’s, Marilyn Monroe does of an overdose.
Valium hooked millions. In 1960 the stones sang the song, Momma’s little helpers. In 1978 2.3 billion valiums were popped.
In 1987 the FDA approves Prozac. Now there is Zoloft, Effexor, Lexapro, Celexa and Paxil. It helps millions and those who get on it should get off it within a year. The problem is some people react different to it and commit suicide within weeks. If you get on it and have those feelings, stop at once and go see your doctor. This is now an 11 billion dollar a year drug with 150 Million prescriptions written every year. More people take it than any other drug other than codeine. One out of every 20 Americans are on them. They were thought to transform lives during depression, shyness, low self-esteem and compulsiveness. Now the glow is off and some question the long term effects. Rare and dangerous side effects of potent medicines like antidepressants often emerge only after the drugs have been prescribed to millions of people for many years. They are known to kill some older men’s sex life into zero and they usually leave the drug for that reason. All drugs have negative side effects and most are addictive, physically or mentally. 5% of this drug is now being given to kids. The drug increases the risk of suicide, especially in the young. For some it creates a perilous brain disorder. Talk to your doctor on these issues if you ask for a prescription.

HEALING Go to your doctor and get treatment. Do a yearly checkup. Monitor your blood pressure closely. If you are depressed or sick, get out and walk, walk a lot, suck in the fresh air, the exercise will help. Get out and dance, it will make you stronger and happier. Get back into music. Play what you enjoy. It does reduce depression. Get into art, draw or paint a picture. Get out and dig in the dirt, plant and maintain a garden. You will have fresh and healthy vegetables to eat.

Get a dog, they help fight depression and relieve stress. They also lower blood pressure. Everyone needs love and animals can and will provide that vital thing for you in your life. Begin to laugh again, get out and live life anew. Laugh all you can. Read anything that is funny. Play comedy movies. Tune in to TV to anything that has a laugh track with it. Laugh your head off. You can laugh yourself well, it has been done before. You cannot play your best pool unless you are healthy and well, physically and mentally.
