Ya know Geno, I think the maufacturers keep coming with new stuff because they know there is always players out there that are looking for the 'magic' solution. Kinda like people that are overweight and try every crazy weight loss method that comes along because they do not have the will to do what is required to lose weight naturally. A lot of pool players want to be great but do not want to apply the effort and time required to get there so they look for the 'magic' stick, or shaft, or chalk, or laser, or whatever is the hot thing at the moment.
I am not saying we shouldn't try something new. If we took that attitude we would all be eating baby food (come to think of it I still enjoy breast feeding). I just think we should not rely on equipment without effort.
If the 2 is thinner and more flexible than the 1 then it certainly should increase the action on the cueball. Given that, the player using it has to put in the effort to learn the effect of the new action so he can control it. It's kinda the old, we don't get sumpin' fer nuttin'.

Hey Pel,
Do you get more action on the "ole cue ball" from a smaller diameter nipple or a larger diameter nipple?
Sorry, couldnt resist..

I was an early adopter of the OB-1. I really like them. I had a couple of the OB-1 shafts turned down to a smaller size (direct from the folks @OB-1). Nothing radical, just a little tweek to my preference. They play great! Based on that expereince I'd say the new OB-2 shafts would be a fine choice.

I'm currently using one that was custom made to go with my Poison cue. I had been playing with a Predator Z2. The OB-2 gives more tactile feed back and feel. The OB-2 is their answer to the Predator Z2. I like it very much and I had talked with Pro John Schmidt and the OB-2 is what he uses and likes it better than the OB-1. Just my opinion and like they say that everyone has one.
