Can bpn make you a better player? If you read every day the instruction advice from the board pros and the better players would you move up in the pool ranks from this increased knowledge? Any one out there that has any success stories they want to share? What was the advice that helped you the most?

Have we helped any one, who wants to testify, come on, don't be bashful, if this is working, tell other people about it. If it is working, tell us what that is, so we can give you more of it.

Absolutely! I especially like the practice drills for various types of practice.

Thanks BPN, Pel :-)

Pretty nice forum. Although this will change in time, ie more people coming here, right now I have enjoyed getting the know the small group that is here.

I tell you what, I have no doubts what so ever that being a member here has made me a better player. From the insights of other members, the free giving nature of the pros (especially Fast Larry), and the chance to get to meet and learn from Fast Larry have all made me a better player. In the approx. 8 month period of time since I started reading and posting here, I have gone up 2 skill levels in apa 8 ball (from a 3 to a 5). And I seem to be continuing my tear through the ranks as I have only lost one match this session and have played some tough opponents. The practice drills, the little though processes, and the confirming what I already knew subconiously have all worked together to help build my self confidence and my overall game. I don't miss balls that I should make anymore, and I don't make balls that I shouldn't. I know when to dive and hide a ball and I know when I can run out and win. The knowledge that is flowing freely here at BPN is what has been helping me and I cherish the friendships that I have been building. I would recommend this site to anyone and have told me entire team that they should join and read as much as they can!

I'll testify, there have been so many things, so many articles that have been dead on, it has done wonders for my game just to know I am getting it straight and accurate. I take it all in as true and it all works, it then is quite simple. On the other forums there are ongoing arguments and 19 ways to sunday to do this or that and you get so confused you end up doing nothing.

I am here for one reason, I learn, I play better. As long as this continues to work, i stay here. I also like the fact there is not this constant war you see on these other boards. I woujld like to see more action here, but it is kinda nice knowing most of the posters here which are real sweet people who have no real egos or agendas to put other people down which is the curse of the other boards.

Glad you have gotten so good from the articles, Craig. But you have to give yourself some credit too. It is not the articles that made you a better player, but what you 'did' with the articles, with the knowlege.

Yes all the credit must go to Craig. Good knowledge and teachings helps a small few, most ignore it and slug on their merry ways into bozo land. :-D :-o :-o :-P

Thanks for the tap taps! I am trying hard, but I couldn't do it without the knowledge that is being shared. Thanks Larry and thank you Laura for being so supportive!

Thanks for the kudos (siberian husky talk).

I have been very fortunate to still have both of my parents still married to each other and their combined experience and mentoring has put me on the right path. I have no doubts as to what kind of man that I am and what kind of people that I want to be around. I don't really care what other people think of me, nor do I do anything just because someone else wants me to do it. I do believe that Like people find Like people. Good/bad, brave/cowards, honest/cheaters... They all seem to flock together. I have a good group of people around me and I strive to hold us all together as the rest of the group does. We want to be in each other's lives and know how much we each mean to each other.

You want to be a good teacher, hang around good teachers. You want to be a good politician, hang around good politicians. You want to be a good pool player, hang around good pool players. Don't let yourself get sucked up by all the other rubbish that happens at bars/pool halls/billiard rooms. Be what you want to be and don't let anyone stand in you way and tell you that it can't be done. Anything can be done if you are willing to go after it.

You want to do what everyone else says is impossible, hang around people that believe that you will do it. Even if you are by yourself for a while, there are always people that will believe in you and what you believe in. Don't settle for anything less than what you expect out of yourself. That is how you get somewhere that you want to be. Just do it.

Yes this is so true, birds of a feather do flock together. The ubangais flock, thats the tribe that has all the tatoos, bones in their nose, bolts in their tounges, 2 faggie ear rings on each ear, a bolt in their nose. They will find a bar or pool hall and the entire tribe will show up together. They can't hang with a group of business people who work for IBM and wear suits, they are the kiddy rebellion drop out druggie losers of the world, winners wont hang with them.
Gamblers will find their place, homo's will have their bar. Drunks will perfer a place where mostly drunks get drunk. Then there are upsclae places where nice people who have upscale jobs on incomes will flock together as well. You do not have to hang with the dredges of society, you can find higher lievels of people and play in safety and with your own kind. You are, who you associate with.

The encyclopedia went away from FL's web site and most of the articles and lessons are here but scattered all over the archives. It's fun digging back into them. There is a wealth of information back here if you have the time to explore it all.

It's still there... just "kb.htm" to the web address. Though these old articles are good, too.

I tried that and it did not work. The link is gone on the web site to the encyclopedia. Nothing to click?
