i have been playing pool for about fifteen years . i have been playing serious pool for about the last six years .i think i have a problem with my stroke or mabe it with my aim i dont know witch on it is i have been doing the only thing i know how to find out by hiting the cueball back on to my tip of my cue from the head spot of the table. i can usaly do it twice to three time in a row but i know you sould be able to do it several time concecativley . willy moscone could do it all the time i have tryed everything i could think of titen my grip loosen my grip look at the cue ball all the way through the shot or look at the spot all the way throght the shot it does not mater i can still only do it two to three time . and when i shooting in a tournement or just playing around i will miss some of the esayest shots if i shoot to hard i cant control it if i shoot to soft i dont get shape .but once in a wial its like a light buld goes on in my head and i shoot great i dont make mistakes i dont hardly miss i can run at least three racks of balls out but as soon as someone says somthing or i relize i have run two to three racks it all vanishes like i still shoot good but not as good its really frustrating i really have not bought any tapes or books the only book i ever owend on pool was 99 critical shoots . but i realy never folowed it .i pratice at least 4to6 hours a night depending on my work .it is really frustrating to shoot good one min then shoot bad the next . i have tryed taping my self but i could not tell what i was doing wroung . the only thing i know is that i get destracted very easy so any coment you all have is apriciated

Talent and practice can only take you so far. If you have poor basics or a flaw in your stroke then you will soon stall and your game will be very inconsistent. Invest in a good teacher who will install all solid basics for you. Then you can buy books and tapes later on.

If you can not lag that cue ball up and down the table and have it come back and hit your tip 5 out of 10 your stroke needs serious work.

We can try to help you here all we can but not being able to see your game makes it a crap shoot.
