Fast Larry review pool rooms
We will list these by city so when you vacation or take a business trip you come in here and will know where to play and what places to avoid.
The ratings will be one thru 10. There is no 10. A 10 has not existed in at least 30 years.
A one or two means its in the Congo and 2 or 3 people have been shot there at least. 4 or 5 means its a dive. 6 or 7 its a normal joint. 8-9-10 means its upscale and a must go see.

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
This area is really south Georgia so you get plenty of real red neck bubbas in the pool rooms with papers. The beach is fabulous and this area has the only high dunes left in Florida. The area is clean and growing. It is an excellent place to live or work. I love Jax. The UPA has a tour event there every year and the last one was in a ball room downtown at the Hyatt, a first class event. It is about a 6 hr drive from Atlanta. I usually stay in Orange Park on the south side next to the dog track which I frequent heavily. My hotel has two 9' amf tables in great shape, 4 bowling alleys, full exercise room and an indoor heated olympic pool and it all sits right on the St Johhs River bank at its widest point which is several miles across. I have a pier to fish off of or I can rent a boat. I am in pig heaven there. I can have my hair cut in the spa. There is 100 acres in the compound so I can walk or jog and never leave the property. Food and booze is served inside the walls. There is a full church to pray in. A park to Bar B Q in with free grills and tables. Spanish moss hangs from the live oak trees and the area has been landscaped since the 20's so it's quite tropical and beautiful. The entire enchalada costs me $40 a night and billiards is free all day long. It also has 4 RV hookups for $25 a night. I am secure behind a fence and guard shack. It is a membership thing.
My main HQ's in this region are Atlanta, Jax and Clearwater. I base out of these 3 places and work circles in and out of them.

called the areas largest and only upscale club. 22 olhausen champion pro tables, 8 in a back room where it can be sealed off for a tourney. Nice bar, nice food, 860 cloth, aramith super pro balls, darts, high def TV/s. 99% white, most beach people dressed Ok, with about 25 % local redneck ass holes.
The olhausens look like hell with hugh white letters spelling out their name on the tables damn near a foot high. I would paint over that mess. The pockets are 5" in the corners with 5 l/4" sides. They shim them up for tourneys. They keep a high ranking pro which currently is Gabe Owen. They had the Jax open, a UPA 9 ball pro tourney in 2005, in 06 it moved downtown to a hotel ball room. A must see go to place if on the beach. Nice speakers, an all white crowd listening to jungle bunny music. It's like playing in a friggin disco, too loud. Very safe place.
The owner Jeff Scott is a good guy who runs a nice place.
TAMPA AND THE ENTIRE AREA AROUND IT.
Tampa is a great city and a lot of fun to be in. Lots of things and places to go to. Its the right size and it has it all. Clearwater is a little tough to get to but when you are there its a great place to live at. Nice beach. I have had a home there since 1973 and I use it as my west coast base. St Pete is wonderful and has the beach and ocean very close by.

9.5 rating. The only reason it did not get a 10 is because of its location. Too hard to get to.
This is where Al Capone and his Chicago gangster mob used to winter in the 30’s. It is out of the way 35 miles north of Palm Harbor which is quite a bit north of St Pete. You have to drive up US 19 which is the highway from hell. The only road worse is the road to Hana. Every block you have to stop for a light. Once you find the place out on a deserted county road in the middle of no where the trip becomes worth the effort. If you leave there to go to Tampa you have a toll road which is fast but costs $3.50. You pay it, any thing not to have to get back on US 19.
It is run by Rocky, a short older guy, real feisty and fun to be around. It is set up very well with 10K sq ft, a large raised bar where you can look down on the action which has full liquor and kitchen. It has good league play. 6 TV’s and a large projection screen , 4 electronic dart boards, ten 9’ gold crowns 4’s, six 8’ gandys, four 7’ valleys and two brand new diamond IPT tables that came from the Orlando tourney recently in 2006. They have the IPT slow cloth, 4 l/2” corner and 5” side pockets. These two tables are reserved for only pro’s to practice on and I only got on them because I tour on the UPT and one was empty at the time. They are usually being played on by house pro Rodney Morris 25th on the mid 2006 UPA rankings and Robbie Saez 12th or Earl Stricklin which has no ranking but would be now around 15th if he did.
There are 3 world class pro’s to watch when they are in town who all live in this area. It’s a world class attraction.

Its been a few years since I have been out there. I spent my time at the University and in private lessons as a student under Eddie Robbins. I don't have anything current. As I travel around I will post about where I go to. I have a lot of friends there and tend to get caught up hanging out in their homes and never get out.

Hard Times Bellflower In SoCal
When you are riding it
home, can see the finish line, don't spit da bit, begin beating the ass
with your riding whip and yell out like Tarzan, who's yo daddy. When
she screams FL, don't take it too hard, life goes on.
