PROPOSITION TWO SHOTS FORCE FOLLOW AND FORCE DRAW OFF A RAIL & GET DOWN TABLE.

TWO GREAT SHOTS. They come up in real game situations and you can now use them to escape from spots you are now doomed in. You can use them as proposition shots where you wager you can make the shot.

The cue ball and the one ball are both frozen to the cushion and few players have the skill, knowledge or stroke to get down table to get out from this position. Few even know its possible. Those who see me do it do not realize this is not a hard shot, it’s a knowledge shot. A technique shot. What will not work, keeping your shaft parallel with the rail and using a level cue and hitting it hard.

What will, jack up, at impact the cue ball rides the rail and kicks off creating the angle to escape the corner pocket, the loaded cue ball hits the long rail and spins down table. I get around 2:00 and way out on the edge, 3 tips which being an artistic player I can do and most can not with out mis cueing. Because the hit is so thin and risky once I am lined up I no long see the one ball, all I see is the outside edge of the cue ball.

Follow the yellow line from the cue ball, that is where my shaft is, you can see I am over l” left of the parallel line and my shaft is going over the point which also creates my escape angle. The extreme right English is helping kick and hold the cue ball left and it will pot if you do not hit too hard. The shot can be made with medium soft stroke, it the maximum juiced cue ball coming off the long rail that provides the spin/power to get down table. Hit too hard and you will blip out. The key is how you stroke through the ball and a lot of that is practice and how I learned the shot which you will have to find on your own.

This is a very valuable escape weapon to have because this comes up a lot and you will never be hopeless trapped again.

This is another proposition shots, a I’ll bet you a beer you cant do this. Set it up, let them see they cant do it. Then bet them you can. I ask for 10 snaps, I’ll bet on 5. A lot of people will bet you $20 just to see the shot and learn how to do it. They figure if you will bet on it you will do it. The bet is you can make the one ball in the corner marked B and get all the way down table to C and shoot in the 9 ball in pocket D. To win, you have to make both balls in two strokes and get out. If they do not bet just wait. Curiousity kills the cat on these shots, just go sit down and 15 minutes and later he will come back and want to see it. This is also a favorite shot of my friend and fellow Meucci pro Jim Rempe.

Cue line is on A, pot the one in B, draw down table to C, pot 9 in D.
This is the same shot as the force follow, balls are in the same place, but we create and entirely new escape path. The follow goes forward and right, this comes comes straight back and then goes right, both go all the way down table on a 9’ to the short rail. On this shot my stroke is so strong, I have to back off because I can go all the way down and come all the way back up so I don’t hit this one hard either.

Note my shaft angle now goes right about a third diamond up from the point, the more angle I create the different the tangent angle is out and down. The shot before it my shaft was at the opposite angle left. I am quite jacked up hitting a low left draw around 7:30. As left is throwing the object ball right which is not good and if you hit to hard you blip out. The key to the shot is to shove the cue tip into the ball and under the rail which pushes or shoves the ball in the pocket.

Two fantastic great shots. This one is a mini version of the one pocket draw shot; I am only going half the distance you have to when you shoot this shot in the current world trick shot championship which is a 5 to 6 rail shot.
