This is the place to talk about pool cues.

It is for the custome cue maker to discuss his art forum or for the players to ask him questions and learn more about how to buy a cue.

Fans can discuss what types of production cues they like best and report on cues which are not being serviced or backed up with quality.

I have had the opportunity 2 play with several popular cues, even hybrids. The only true difference that I noticed was the texture! It doesnt help ones game! I think its psychological. What do u think???

it's the indian behind the arrow, not the crossbow
When you are riding it
home, can see the finish line, don't spit da bit, begin beating the ass
with your riding whip and yell out like Tarzan, who's yo daddy. When
she screams FL, don't take it too hard, life goes on.

Granted, but you have to have a decent bow :-D But it doesn't matter what it looks like, just go for quality. Having used a Z shaft, I'm not impressed with the wild tech - just give me a straight well made shaft. I don't know of anyone that can shoot as well with a run of the mill bar cue as their $200 to $400 cue.

I love wood to wood McDermotts the most bang for the buck and a unparalled lifetime warranty! I own Samsara, Nick Varner (older original series), McDermotts and now 2 Jacobys I play mainly with a D16 McDermott and a Jacoby

I have to agree there! most bar cues r damn near bow shaped. I have never seen a bar cue that wasnt warped. I give them the roll test(on the table) ANY new cue has to be better than a bar cue!HA! :-D

I keep an old Meucci sneaky pete in the trunk and in a strange joint, or bar, I walk in with it, no case, just broke down. Its also a nice weapon going out the door just in case somebody messes with you.

There are a lot of places I dont want to walk in with my 3x6 $800 leather case and pull out my bushka and screw it together.

I've always wanted to get a cheap "Budweiser" cue and see if someone could replace the joint and fit a nice shaft on it. The ultimate sneaky-p; the Budweiser cue! :-P

I'm sure it could be done. I knew a guy that shot with one in college, and I've never seen a tip that cheap before. I swear it was made out of cardboard and the shaft had half of a knot in it :-D

You could probably get away with keeping the joint and sending the size into Predator or have Larry order a Meucci shaft to fit.

I know a serious gambler and hustler who once tried to get me into a game and I looked at his cue and he had it wrapped in budweiser tape. I said, that's a nice looking cue you have there, what did you pay for it. He said ten bucks at a pawn shop. I said, what a pos, looks to me like you paid 5 too much. I said, looking at it, $100 ivory ferrule, morri tip, now tell me what's under the tape, let me guess, a Schon? He smiled and said, how did you know? I said I can smell you boys. He then came clean and told me how well that hustle worked and how many people that fooled.

I've seen many come in and play with a house cue and when it gets serious and out of the bag, then they go out to the trunk to get the Schon.

In the hustler movie when Fast Eddy went into ames, they hid the leather satchel with the bushka and he began playing with a house cue.

There you have to pick up other signals that ID's the hustler.

If you could give me some free advice I would be grateful. I have only been playing for a couple of years and only get on our table a couple of times a week in our home. I work and don't have much time to play. I do enjoy the game. My husband gave me an older meucci which is a two tone purple marbled design. It's very pretty and I like it a lot but its 20 ozs. I had a gal over and she said that its too heavy and I should be playing with 17 or 18. I love the cue, must I sell it to buy something lighter?
