What are some ways to improve ones stroke? I was practicing while using the back of a chair that had a perfectly straight metal frame so that I could use it as a guide to see if my arm went left or right as I was stroking. As it turned out it was slightly. So every once in a while I practice to straighten and perfect my stroke. Is this the right idea or is there a more effective way. Thanks again FL.

The other thing that I have been doing is practicing one handed. That seems to help a lot.

Yes, if you can not afford the $150 for the stroke trainer I have in stock, that is the next best thing, learn to have a brace and feel like the arm is on a hinge so it repeats.

I have never seen one in person. I also don't have a table to practice on at home so it would make using a device like that difficult. Although, I have contemplated ordering one. I figured that was the way the device worked. The chair I already have. Do you feel that is a worth while product for someone to order if they do not personally own a table?

LOL, I have a sardo tight rack but never use it since a table really needs to be set up for it and its too bulky to carry to pool halls. I even got the rediculous case with it. I thought it would be a quick fix for tables that were tough to rack on. I was wrong. Now it sits collecting dust.

I got to use one during my lesson with Larry and it is a cool contraption. You don't need a pool table to make it work, just a flat surface and a pool cue. Good things man...

The cost of them, $150 scares some people off, but what would you pay for a perfect stroke, when you think about it, $150 is one hell of a deal. I would not stock and sell them if they did not work. I don't sell anything I do not believe in.

The best thing for your stroke only cost $15.00.

If you want the stroke trainer I'm thinking of selling mine, I will post it in the sales section, if I decide to sell it.

I will explain more later, I'm in a hurry right now and have to get going.

You boys snag this fast if it comes up for sale. email me the price to fastlarry@bellsouth.net, I may buy it. I sell it for the same price they do on their web site. I make very little money on the transaction. I carry them because I believe in them and if somebody wants one during a lesson, I have it here with no waiting.
The old ones are better than the new ones, they are painted black, the new ones have no paint are are bare aluminum. $150 for a perfect pro stroke, 12 minutes of practice a day is all it takes. In a few weeks if you stay with it then you see it kick in. You must do this daily or it will not work. You can practice on your dinning room table. You dont need a pool table at home. This is the real deal, honest injun.

I dont like it, there is a half inch wiggle room on both sides of the shaft, you could be flopping around and not know it, even be aiming off line. Stroking against a wall, as in the stroke trainer puts you on an exact plane, like a hinge on a door.

Ok here goes! Now listen closely because my game has improved tremendously from this product.

I have always had a flaw in my stroke that I could not seem to correct, my stroke always swerved from left to right.

It was the only way I could pot balls consistently, I ordered the stroke trainer hoping it would correct this flaw, but after using it for about 8 months I found it was not helping, I still had the same flaw

my problem really was not a crooked stroke, but the way I lined up my shot, and I had to stroke left to right to compensate for the way I was lining up.

So the truth was, that my eyes were playing tricks on me, what I thought was the center of the cue ball, really was no where close, so I had to stroke left to right to compensate.

So I ordered Joe Tuckers 3rd eye Stroke trainer

http://www.joetucker.net/start.html

go here and he has a video, explaining how it works and how almost everyone has this flaw.

So when I got it I put it on the end of my cue and shot 50 long straight in stop shots a day with it, it showed me where the true dead center of the cue

ball was, I had to move my tip about a tip and a half to the right, thats how bad my eyes were mis leading me, needless to say I do have a severe

stigmatism. I can not believe how lining up on the true center of the cue ball can improve your stroke and game.

Does the stroke trainer give you a straight stroke I'm sure it does but that was not my problem, Maybe now that I line up properly I might start

using the stroke trainer again, maybe both together will help even more, but I now believe there is more flaws to a stroke then it just being straight.

So I recommend trying this $15 item first and seeing what it does for your stroke before you purchase the stroke trainer.

It is by far the best pool item I have ever purchased, and I have spent thousands on videos and various pool gadgets.

Whenever I did a long straight in shot that required a draw stroke it was a 50 50 shot swerving left to right, same with the inside tops 3 rail position shot, but now it is in the high 80's to 90's. I now know I am lined up dead nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so if it helped you, post where you got it so others can acquire to too. Yes it is true, most of my students have no clue where the center of the cue ball is. I check each one for this and have a series of drills they must do to correct it. Some are aiming across the line, some just grooved center of the ball a l/8th inch off center right or left and I have to have them trick them selves to fight to find center. It's a real problem and one I think you need a teacher to help you with. This is one of the main reasons you should take a lesson.

I did post where I got it from.

http://www.joetucker.net/start.html

You can order it on his site, and there is also a video that comes with it, but you can watch the video on his site.

I actually bought it at the Glass City Open, but you can order it on Joe Tuckers site.

Any thing that works, I want promoted on this site.
I'll try it and see what I think. The stroke is the heart of the game, if you don't get that right, you do not advance.

You know, I have even noticed that stroke correction a lot in other people and noticed myself doing that from time to time. I just may have to order one of those. Did you get the 5 inch or the 2.5? Seems to me that the 5 inch would be more beneficial.

I actually have the 2.5 inch prongs, I never knew there was a 5 inch one. The 5 inch one might be a little awkward to pot balls with.

As its a little awkward to pot balls with the 2.5 inch one. You can really only pot straight shots with it you can't really play with it.

Even if your tip is aimed at the true center of the cue ball it does'nt mean the back end of your butt is'nt a tad to the left or right, so this will help you line up straight from the tip all the way back to the butt of your cue.

Where was this device 10 years ago when I was starting, the hours and money I wasted with other methods trying to groove the perfect stroke.

This is the only pool chat forum, where total freedom of speech exists, as long as you are polite. Every new product is welcome to come in to be seen and debated fairly. If its a good thing, then I want to sell it on my web site and tell every one about it here on pool chat.
