Well, I replaced my warped shaft from my stealth with a Meucci black dot. I ordered it on 11/27/05 from BudgetCues.com and it arrived today so thats not bad. It took less than a week to get the PP-2. However, meucci didn't carry that joint in stock so they had to make it for me. Its a 5/16 x 18 piloted aparently. In case anyone else wanted to know. It doesn't fit the butt perfectly, however, that was the be expected I am certain. Its very very close. I got this one in a 12.5mm. Still not as thin as I think I would like, however, I am working my way there. I havent chalked it or shot with it yet, so I'll update this thread tomorrow.

Now, I know that some multiple piece shafts can not be used for breaking like the 314. Is there any reason why I cannot use the blackdot shaft for breaking?

Well, as it turns out the shaft seems to be warped. Either that, or its not fitting to the cue correctly. However, I noticed this after I chalked it and played a few racks with it. I havent had a chance to call them and see about getting it replaced yet. We shall see.

Well, shoot, that's no good. Mine didn't fit really well either, but it's straight. It doesn't mesh with the butt perfectly (to be expected) but if I crank it down a little it's solid.

Does the shaft roll true on its own (without the butt attached)?

no, it doesn't seem to roll true by itself :-( I'll call Meucci up today and see what can be done.

well, I called meucci and they said I had to go through budget billiards. They also said it would be a problem that the shaft has been chalked. Hmm... maybe if all else fails, I can clean off the chalk and send it directly back to meucci. :-?

I see, so owning a cue for 1 day and chalking it causes warping. Hmmmmmmmm!

Does it come with a warning that chalking the cue may cause the shaft to warp? Or that warranty is VOID if chalk applied?

I had spent some time cleaning the tip just in case. It looks pretty well new. However, I just got an e-mail back from Budget billiards and they said:

"We definitely will exchange a defective shaft...even if it is used. Our policy is for those who simply change their mind...not for those who have a problem with their order."

so hopefully that will work out just fine. :-) Thats the way business should be done.

Just be careful how you ship it. I would suggest Fedex.

When I tried to mail my shaft in via UPS to Meucci, the box got there, but it had been opened, and nothing was inside. I still don't have a shaft for my accellerator because of that.

Yikes! That sucks... Don't forget to put insurance on your shipping when you ship your cues/shafts...

Oh, I made sure to get insurance... but Meucci didn't respond to my emails about a letter the post office needed to reimburse me, and I ended up losing the slip.

Had I called, they might have obliged. It wasn't an option at the time, though.

I think the fact that Fast Larry no longer uses their products and has written extensively on poolchat.net about their problems undescores their apparent lack of organization, especially in regard to service issues. I'm glad I haven't had any trouble with my Meucci stuff.

Black-dot
Zing it in... :-D
