There was a question asked how much does it cost to enter and play. It was supposed to be free to the selected 150 but they had to pay $1000. I thought that was really shitty. One third of the field cashed nicely and are happy campers. 2/3 rd's of the field spend 1K to enter and 1K for travel expenses putting out 2K to win nothing and go home broke. It is typical of pool to load up the top end to make it look better and then give no living to the bulk of the players.

Still this is the largest pay out ever and we should focus on this, more players made more money than ever before.

Prize Money - $1,000,000.00

King of the Hill Champion - $200,000

2nd Place - $100,000
3rd Place - $ 70,000
4th Place - $ 60,000
5th Place - $ 50,000
6th Place - $ 40,000
7th Place - $ 30,000
8th Place through 19th Place - $ 20,000 Each
20th Place through 28th Place - $ 13,000 Each
29th Place through 43rd Place - $ 6,200 Each

11th place in prior events usually lost money are the poor guy barely broke even. Now 19th place won the same amount 1st place pays now in the UPA mens 9 ball events. That is a ground breaking stunning achievement.

You only had to place in the top 43 to take home 6200, they took a risk with there money to try to win a large sum.

I'm sure alot of those players have backers or sponsers, to cover there entry fee. If I am not mistaken, I'm sure it cost money to enter pro golf tournaments.

It cost 300 to 500 dollors plus traveling expenses to enter pro pool tournaments that paid next to nothing, before the IPT was invented. So whats an extra $500 to enter an IPT tournament, that pays 50 times more, then any other tournament?

That was the point they were trying to make all along. Until the money gets paid, most wont accept this.

Actually, they risked no money. This was an invitational with no entry fee and every player got money with 6K+ being the lowest amount.

I just hope the Kevin Treadeau (sp) stay's with it and
keep's the purses high. I like that the Men & Women play each other. That has been one of my gripes for years. They should be able to play each other. they say they taped all the matches, I wonder if he is going to try a pay-per-view or if there going to release them on DVD. I am sure he will try and re-coop some of his cash that way.
I did catch the first one on a local sports station and taped it. That was the one where Sigel played Lori Jon. It was like a big infomercial. Who the heck cares what Mario (loser) Lopez has to say, let us just watch the action. :-D
