Ok, I have always loved the lower end Dufferin Canadian Maple cues. They are solid and wear well for their price.
I have heard that Dufferin has gone out of business in Canada. I have heard that their cues may become hard to find. Too bad.
But, I read on the Internet that Dufferin has not gone out of business. I read that they have moved their operations to Japan. I found several websites selling Dufferin cues they say are new 2006 models.
So, which is it?

Duffrin is out of business they went bankrupt in Canada last year. I have been told that Cue & Case has purchased Duffrin's name and will be making Duffrin one piece bar cues in China to retail in North America and capitalize on Duffrin cues excellent reputation. As to the quality of these "New Dufferin cues" I can't say as i have not seen them yet for testing.

Hmm, interesting, thanks for the reply. I wonder if the "new Dufferins" will be sold at major retailers like Wal-Mart or if they will only be availble online or at specialty stores. I purchased about 10 Dufferin cues about 15 years ago at a Wal-Mart in Wyoming. Little did I know the gold mine I had stumbled on. The cues were less than $30 a piece, and they still play great and are solid and straight as an arrow after thousands of games. I hope the quality doesn't suffer now but I am not holding up hope. Is there a website for this Cue & Case company?
Also, what do people think of the Action Elite series cues? They are made of maple and other hardwoods and are very attractive. I like their looks, never held one or played with one. They look solid, not sure if the joint is as solid as the Dufferins.
Thanks all.
