Steve Davis never did all that well, did he?
But then again, he did move over when he was a little past his world championship winning days.
I think the main problem for the snooker players is the ban on tobacco sponsorship in the UK - last year's Embassy world championship was the final tobacco-sponsored snooker event here.
That's causing a big cut in prize money, which has to make the American game a little more appealing (although obviously Ronnie went for slightly different reasons) - although as Larry says, you need to be finishing pretty well to make a living from it.
