The top layer on my talisman h tip is delaminating. Should I get a pro to shape it to get the layer off? It's a damn good tip and i still get great spin on the cb on my mcdermott because the delminating layer is on the very tip of the tip.

So what should I do?

Also I have a chip on my pro cup cue ball
When you are riding it
home, can see the finish line, don't spit da bit, begin beating the ass
with your riding whip and yell out like Tarzan, who's yo daddy. When
she screams FL, don't take it too hard, life goes on.

The chip on the cue ball I doubt you can do a whole lot about. Perhaps try to fill it with epoxy or something? An acrylic nail product might work also.... talk to your girlfriend about that one ;-)

How worn down is the tip? I've been using a Willard dime keychain shaper, and it works wonders. It's rough enough to scuff the tip with a couple of twists, and it can shape the tip fairly quickly. I would get one of these, or something similar, and just wear it down past the delaminated part. Putting a tip on is best left to those who know what they're doing, but shaping is something you can (and should) get used to doing yourself.

I quit using Talisman fopr that reason. Don't know if I got a bad batch or what but had 4 of them that the center came out leaving a hole in the tip.

I've been pretty hard on my Talisman S that I have... I had a layer that looked like it was starting to come off, but I just filed it down a little, and it hasn't been a problem since. I keep a very close eye on my tips, though.

Larry just sent me 4 more tips, and I'll be using them eventually. I can juice the cue ball like mad with it, and I don't have any complaints. I'll let you guys know my opinion of them after I use them for a while.

Which hardness did you guys have?

All you young'uns want to really "juice" that ball as y'all call it. The old pros always said to use as little english (juice) as possible. A top flight shooter (like our own FL) can move the cue anywhere using just high-middle-and low center ball. It's all in knowing how. Don't get me wrong, I am certainly not saying I can do it. Heck, I can't hardly move it using "juice". I have learned one thing if nothing else and have tried to get my stepson to apply it to his game. Finese is better than force.

But force is fuuuun. I don't put english on every shot, and I try to get most of my shots to float into the next. Usually I'll get a little out of position after a few shots, though, and I'll have to 'juice' it in the direction I want it to go. Sometimes I overshoot it, and sometimes it doesn't get far enough, but I like knowing I can draw to almost anywhere on the table.

Yep, sounds like my stepson. He can draw like crazy so he uses it 85-90 percent of the time. Get's him in trouble a lot because as Fast will tell you you can't control draw as much as you can follow. I always tell him when he makes one of those table length draws he loves to do and he winds up hooked - Live by the Draw, Die by the Draw. :-D

Hey, it's a game, have fun and enjoy it however you like to do it.
