Any opinions are welcomed,
I have some questions for everyone at the forum, but your opinion would be especially helpful considering you are a pro. I would like to know what the top of the line tables are. I'm thinking of a brunswick gold crown but it is a bit expensive for what I would like to pay. What are the major differences between an olhausen, brunswick, and diamonds? What are the price differences? What are the quality differences, and what do the the pros prefer to play on. Also,
-what would you buy for around $5000
-should i buy a used table even if a warranty doesn't come with it
-are there a lot of pro tournaments that I could pick up a used table at for a good discount
- anything else that might be of help for me to decide what table to buy
Thanks for your time
Chad

I have a Diamond Pro and like it very much. It has tight pockets and a deep shelf so you ahve to be on with the shot. They say that makes you a better shooter. I'm still waiting for that to happen. I purchased it used from Grady at a very fair price. I then had it recovered with 860 and new cushions put on. My table mechanic told me that the cushions Diamond and Olhausen uses will just suddenly go hard. That is what mine did. I replaced with Brunswick Superspeed and love it.
Personally I would rather buy used at a good price and replace the cloth (and rails if needed) of the type I want.

I have always loved any sort of Brunswick table with drop pockets and decent rails.
I have had an 8x4 tournament size Brunswick Bristol table since I was about 10 and it plays just as smoothe and straight and level today as it did then. And, it was less than $500.
Of course, Gandy and Olhausen make fine tables too.
If I were to buy a table today, I would go with a Brunswick Gibson, Mission or Highlander. Green Simonis 860. Should last forever and play like a dream. You can find good deals online too for little to never played tables.
