When you are riding it
home, can see the finish line, don't spit da bit, begin beating the ass
with your riding whip and yell out like Tarzan, who's yo daddy. When
she screams FL, don't take it too hard, life goes on.

Well first of all, McDermott makes a *lot* of cues, so I would imagine that they are not all the same?
With that said, I have a McDermott which has what appears to be a weight bolt (with slots for a very wide screw driver) in the very end of the butt, and the bumper screws into this metal part. I remove a small piece of rubber in the center of the bumper to reveal the screw to remove the bumper.
I have cues made by other manufacturers where there are threads going quite a distance up into the butt, and they use a hex wrench weight bolt. With these cues, you can screw the weight bolt way up into the butt or near the end of the butt, or use two or more weight bolts (one further up and another near end of butt).
