I have trouble setting up for these shots...I cannot form my normal stance on this shot, the angle of the shot is such that the table is in the way for a normal setup... it would require an
alttered stance. Im right handed, and I never use the mechanical bridge unless I absolutely have to... what stance would you use and from which side of the table would you shoot this?

THANKS!

I'm sure than many would disagree with me, but try shooting left handed. Give it a while. It works great for me - I shoot better left handed than with the bridge. May not work for most, but it works for me. Many would just say "practive with the brdge". Try it both ways.

Shooting that shot left handed isnt even physically possible, that makes the angle even worse... although I'm sure shooting lefty solves other problems, just not this shot...did you load the shot from the wei table and look?

SHOOT TO ANOTHER BALL, OR PLAY SAFE . OF COURSE IF THE GAME IS 9 BALL, YOU MUST SHOOT IN ROTATION. iF 9 BALL, I WOULD PLAY A SAFETY, LEAVING OPPONENT A BANK OFF AN END RAIL.

Geez - guess I didn't. I would shoot that standing behind the side picket leaning over the table. On this type of shot, I'm more conscious of my forearm being vertical than normal shots (not unlike when I shoot left handed - I actually THINK about my swing being straight). To give you a visual, I'd look like I was doing the chicken dance (my upper arm out perpendiculr to the cue, way out from my body.
If it was further out in the table (if the butt of the cue is out further than perpendicular to the rail) such as in this example:
START(
%AH9Y2%PQ3X3%WJ5Y0%XP6X3
)END
I'd either punt and use the bridge, or do as halhoule said and play safe (assuming the game is 9-ball).
The safe I'd play, given your shot, follows
START(
%AH9Y2%PQ1Y2%WJ9Y2%XO9Y1%YD7R2%ZI7X6%eB8`3%_I6Z8%`C5Y6%aG6Y5
)END
And, to tell the truth, it'd involve about the same stance. Heck, I'd go for the win, and hit it hard enough to make sure that if the 9 didn't go in, it'd bounce out of the jaws of the pocket.

You can do that. As long as you still have one foot on the floor, you are allowed to be on the table to complete a shot.
