How do you grip the cue? Tell me what fingers are on the stick. Does your pinky, or other fingers fly off it. Does one finger control the cue, 2 or more. Which fingers have pressure, which fingers do not? Where are the main pressure points in your grip. Do you hold it tight, medium or loose? Is there space around the webbing between your thumb and index finger or does that area also grip the cue.

Hmm, sometimes my grip changes when I shoot different shots, I don't mean to, but I think it messes with me. I try to shoot with a medium grip, but I don't know....Try asking Fast Larry or one of the other pros, their advice is worth more than most.

THERE ARE AS MANY GRIPS AS THERE ARE POOL PLAYERS, AND THAT GOES FOR AMATEURS AND PROS. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY IN ALL OF POOL, IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME. EXCEPT IN AIMING. NO AIM, NO GAME.

I use the Professional Bridge. My Dad who was an old pool hall junkie taught me to play and that's the bridge he used and that's what I was taught to use.
If you watch the old pros like Joe Balsis, Willie Mosconi and Babe Cranfield, you will learn the perfect bridge.
It's solid, stable, you control the cue stick with your index finger wrapped securely around the cue.
I guess use whatever is comfortable for you, but I have to laugh when I see people shooting off their thumbs or between their knuckles. I might use those bridges on awkward shots, but feel uneasy and unsteady when I do.
