I keep an open mind and try what I learn about. BTW - I think it is dropping your "elbow" which is ok, not "shoulder"?

I have some "expert" videos which say not to drop the elbow. Well I tried more elbow dropping last night and got excellent follow on my shots.

That's another thing I have learned. Some of the "experts" don't always give the best or complete advice. FL says it like it is!

"Experts" will tell you what works for them. A really good teacher will be able to determine what works for you. Another thing, a true teacher will be able to tell and show you what you need to do but may not be able to do it themselves. A person can lose ability but still have knowledge.

One other thing, if you are getting a lot more follow by dropping your elbow it might indicate you are not getting high enough on the ball to start with or are not using a level cue. Talk with Larry about it. He will put you on the right track.

Later, Pel

Having a beginners forum is a very cool idea.

Yes it is, MoJo.

Hopefully this section of the site will give those that are truely new to the game an opportunity to interact and know that others understand that they are beginners and as such might ask a question that is a tad foolish sounding to more experienced players. In that light I hope that the experience players would respond in such a manner to not critize or belittle but in a manner of a teacher bringing a student along.

Later, Pel :-)
